Privacy policy

What we collect

Newsletter. Your email address, when you give it to us, plus which form you used and when. That is the whole record.

Comments. The name and comment you submit, and an email address if you provide one. The email is never published; it exists so we can reply and so we can moderate.

Analytics. Aggregate page traffic. We do not build profiles of individual readers.

Affiliate clicks. When an outbound partner link is used we record which link, which page, the referring page and a coarse device type. No IP address, no user agent string, no identifier that survives the request.

What we do not collect

Calculator inputs. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to us. The tools run in your browser, and the numbers stay there. If you share a result link, only the state you selected is in the URL.

We do not sell personal information to anybody, for any purpose.

Cookies

We use what is needed to keep the site working and to keep an admin session signed in. Where we ask for consent for anything beyond that, declining is the default and everything still works.

Third parties

Where advertising is served by a third party, that party sets its own cookies under its own policy. Partner sites you reach through our links have their own policies too, and we have no control over them.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us through the contact page.

Newsletter unsubscribes are honoured immediately. We keep the record that an address unsubscribed, so that we do not accidentally re-add it, and so consent is auditable. If you want that record removed entirely, ask and we will remove it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be noted on this page with a date.
