How the staking rewards calculator works

The tool grows your staked tokens at the annual rate you enter. If you choose to restake rewards daily, weekly, or monthly, each payout is added to your stake so it begins earning rewards of its own. That is the heart of compounding, and it is why the effective yield the tool reports can sit noticeably above the headline rate.

The chart traces your balance year by year, with a dashed line marking your original stake. The widening gap above that line is the reward tokens your position has accumulated. Add a token price and the tool also estimates the dollar value, though that figure swings with the market.

A quick example

Stake 1,000 tokens at an 8 percent rate for three years with daily restaking. Daily compounding lifts the effective yield to roughly 8.33 percent, so your balance climbs to about 1,271 tokens. That is around 271 reward tokens, noticeably more than the 240 you would collect with simple, non-restaked rewards.

Things to keep in mind

Advertised staking rates can change, validators may be slashed for downtime or misbehaviour, and some networks lock your tokens during an unbonding period. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between APR and APY when staking?

APR is the plain annual reward rate before any restaking, while APY is the yield you actually realise once rewards are restaked and start earning rewards themselves. This calculator takes the rate you enter and the restaking frequency you choose, then shows the effective APY so you can compare offers on equal footing.

Does restaking my rewards really make a difference?

Yes, especially over longer periods. When rewards are paid daily and added back to your stake, each new reward earns rewards too. The more often this happens, the higher your effective yield climbs above the advertised rate, which is why daily restaking ends a little ahead of monthly.

Why does the calculator track tokens instead of dollars?

Staking pays you in tokens, not cash, so the most reliable figure is how many tokens you end up with. If you enter a token price, the tool also shows an approximate dollar value, but remember that price can move sharply and is only a snapshot.

Are staking rewards guaranteed?

No. Real network rewards change with participation rates and protocol rules, validators can be penalised through slashing, and token prices are volatile. Treat the projection as an estimate of token growth under a steady rate, not a promised return.
